Toyota is preparing a wide variety of news that can be seen at its booth at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2017. One of them is the new Toyota TJ Cruiser Concept. It is an interesting concept car with which the Japanese brand sought the perfect balance between a professional vehicle and a leisure car for the weekend. With a powerful image of the most capable SUVs and spacious interior of a van, the Toyota TJ Cruiser Concept benefits from Toyota’s experience in the development of all-terrain and commercial vehicles. All of this is tempered with the Japanese company’s renowned hybrid technology and a design with futuristic features and features. In principle, the image that the Toyota TJ Cruiser Concept offers is not very strong. The body of the vehicle has a well squared shape. An aspect that is directly related to the capabilities of your interior. On the other hand, its bulky wheel arches, tires, grille and the front and rear optical groups, bring strength and capacity to the set, since they are more specific details of an SUV. The roof, hood and mudguards are coated with a special material resistant to scratches and dirt. In relation to the interior, it comes with a passenger compartment for four seats and the possibility of carrying all kinds of objects up to 3 meters in length. The seat backrests include numerous attachment points to safely secure luggage which dodge to buy this year. The rear doors have a sliding opening system that facilitates access to the passenger compartment, as well as the huge rear cover allows easy loading and unloading of the trunk. 2016 – TOYOTA GT86 GRMN
Gazoo Racing is the division in charge of the competitions inside Toyota in Japan. In addition, from time to time they present some of their models in more sporty street versions. This is the case of the Toyota GT86 GRMN, a special edition of the coupe aimed at the use in circuit and that receives an increase of power and a reduction of weight to improve its behavior. The acronym GRMN means ‘Gazoo Racing Masters of Nürburgring’, in homage to the famous circuit, as you can imagine. Although many versions of this model have appeared, most were for exhibitions and this will be one of the most sportive to come to production. One of the elements that remains in relation to the model of series is the engine. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine had its power increased from 200 bhp to 220 bhp, while the torque also rose slightly to 217 Nm. Rear-wheel drive is one of its signs of identity and therefore remains . Also remains the six-speed manual transmission, although their ratio has been adjusted.
Another important modification in the Toyota GT86 GRMN is the weight reduction. It lost no less than 45 kg in relation to the series model. For this it uses carbon fiber in the hood and ‘plexiglas’ in the side windows. The aerodynamic level receives improvements like the front splitter and the large rear aerofolio. The package is also more sporty for the chassis. The suspension has been revised and the brakes replaced and now have larger ventilated discs – six pistons in front and four in back. The alloy wheels are still 17 inches, although now the rear tires are wider. The Toyota GT86 GRMN is only available in Japan. In addition, this is a special edition and its production will be limited to only 100 units. The vehicle will not be cheap either, announcing a starting price of around 214,000 reais at today’s exchange rate.
2016 – TOYOTA INNOVA
These days Toyota is starting to market in Indonesia the new Kijang Innova that comes with a much more modern aesthetic and finishes than its predecessor, although it remains a cost-effective model. With very square shapes to ensure maximum use of the interior with up to eight seats, it opens a front with rectangular headlights and a larger grid that take all the leading role and bring you closer to the world of crossovers. Inside the instrument panel has a more careful presentation. In the press release, Toyota cites some new features such as LED daytime running lights, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, alloy wheels up to 17 inches, driving modes selector (Eco, Power and Normal), access system without key and the traction / stability controls.
The engine offering is made up of a 2.0i 16v petrol with a power output of 139 hp and a maximum torque of 183 Nm. A five-speed manual transmission or an automatic one that leaves the four ratios of the previous version to now integrate six speeds that allow you to extract more power from the engine. For users looking for a diesel alternative, they can choose the new 2.4-liter engine that debuted in the Hilux that develops 149 hp of power and a maximum torque of 359 Nm. As in the gasoline option, it is possible to choose between manual transmission and new automatic. Among the many markets where the model will be commercialized we can highlight: Indonesia, Brunei, South Africa, Taiwan, Australia, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. It is not planned to be launched in Europe and the United States / Canada, with the possibility of being introduced in some markets in Latin America.
2016 – TOYOTA NOVA HILUX
Toyota presented today (05/11), the 8th generation of Hilux for the Brazilian market. The 47-year-old pick-up will be manufactured in Zárate, Argentina, and will be marketed in the Chassi-Cabine, Single Cabin, STD, SR, SRV and unprecedented SRX top-of-the-line models. the latest will be offered only with six-speed automatic transmission. All options will be factory-fitted with four-wheel drive, rear differential lock, air conditioning, progressive power steering, steering column with height and depth settings, driver knee aibags (plus two required) and fuel economy. The SR version adds power windows with anti-smash, power locks and rear-view mirrors, Toyota Play multimedia center and chilled glove compartment. The SRV configuration adds door unlocking, rear-mounted digital air conditioning, power-adjusted seats, keyless engine start, traction and stability controls, ABS brakes with EBD and BAS, color TFT instrument panel, ascent assist and descent and headlights with automatic leveling. The SRX will have the complete package, with seven airbags (front, side and curtain), 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlamps (head and dials) with automatic leveling. The new generation is 70 mm larger, 20 mm wider and 45 mm lower, with the same 3,080 mm wheelbase. The engine is the unprecedented 2.8 1GD diesel, with variable geometry turbocharger and intercooler, in place of the old 3.0. They are 177 hp at 3,400 rpm (6 hp more than the previous one) and maximum torque of 420 Nm with manual transmission and 450 Nm if equipped with automatic transmission. For now, Hilux will not be sold with bi-fuel motoring – flex versions are expected to arrive in the second half of 2016.
2016 – TOYOTA PRIUS C PERSON SERIES
Toyota’s hybrid line is renewed. The new generation of the Toyota Prius was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a new image and many new features. Now the Japanese brand shows the small of the renovated family, the Toyota Prius C 2016. However, it is not a total renovation, but a small facelift, since the model received an upgrade does relatively recently. Among the changes introduced in the Prius C 2016, comes the safety system Toyota Safety Sense C, which incorporates automatic headlights, warning of change of track and an anti-collision system. In addition to these measures, the brand took the opportunity to present a new limited edition of the model, the ‘Persona Series’. All vehicles of this edition will be painted in black and the customer can choose between two tones for their contrasts: ‘Cherry Pearl’ or ‘Electric Lime’. These two colors will be at the bottom of the grille, the headlights and the windows, as well as the mirrors. The wheels are also black and 15 inches. Inside the customization continues and we find the fabric banks with two shades. In the normal version and in the edition ‘Persona Series’ the engine continues the same of four cylinders and 1.5 liters combined with an electric motor. With this configuration the Toyota Prius C develops a combined power of 99 hp. As for the Prius C Persona Series, it will be available next December and its production will be limited to 1,500 units.
2016 – TOYOTA PRIUS TOM’S RACING
A lot of people do not get excited about having an electric or hybrid model because they are too sober in their design and sometimes with poor performance. Taking into account that they are not models for those who like to step on the accelerator, at least in the design it is possible to give an increase.
Japanese tuning company Tom’s Racing unveiled its tuning program for the new Toyota Prius. Features an aerodynamic kit that leaves the model looking more sporty. The trainer has created a package of aesthetic improvements that has two different spoilers for the lower zone of the front bumper, a new rear diffuser, side skirts, lowered suspension and alloy wheels with multi-spoke design. It is also possible to choose between two designs for the four-way exhaust, one with the same blue finish as the Toyota logo. Where there are no changes is in the mechanical part: the Toyota Prius prepared by Tom’s Racing uses the same hybrid engine of 122 hp that equips the original model.
2016 – TOYOTA PROACE VAN
The arrival of the new Toyota Proace Van completes the collaboration for light commercial vehicles of medium size between the Japanese brand and the French PSA. The model joins the new generations of the Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert, two vans recently presented and with which it shares many elements. Proace Van will be showcased at the upcoming Birmingham Show, which opens its doors at the end of April. Proace Van comes with an image where the design work leaves a very acceptable aesthetic for a vehicle more oriented to the job market. Likewise, the equipment offered counts on systems like the Head-Up Display, navigation with tactile screen, sensors of parking and alert of involuntary change of track. In addition, it also features adaptive cruise control, rear view camera and blind spot control, very useful in practice for a commercial vehicle. Although the equipment makes it almost a minivan, Proace Van does not forget its main objective: to offer a good space of load for all type of industrial works. For this reason, like its Jumpy and Expert cousins, with up to three body lengths starting in the 4.6 meters of the most compact, they pass the 4.9 meters of the average and finish in the 5.3 meters of the longest version. The load capacity reaches the 6.6 square meters offering a cabin chassis that can adapt to various configurations. It can be chosen from three versions: Combi, Mista and Van, finding in the same way a very varied mechanical line. The offer will have two engines, a 1.6-liter diesel block that can develop 95 and 115 hp, and a 2.0-liter diesel also offering 150 and 180 hp. It will also be available with the option of a six-speed automatic transmission, which will arrive as standard with the most powerful alternative.
